HPD Officer Arrested In Traffic Sting For Theft

Houston, Texas

Officer Anthony Rochell Foster, 43, is charged with theft by a public servant. Court records show he's accused of stealing between $500 and $1,500. Sources who were briefed on this case indicate the officer was arrested after a traffic stop before noon, after he's accused of taking cash from the motorist he had pulled over. The motorist was actually an undercover officer from the HPD Proactive Internal Affairs unit.

One ranking source who works with Foster at the HPD Northeast Patrol station on Ley Road says that Proactive IAD had been investigating reports that the officer was "shaking down" Hispanic male drivers he had pulled over.
