East Texas Sheriff's Deputy Eddie Nichols Facing New Allegations of Sexual Indecency With Child

Deputy Eddie Nichols
Marshall, Texas

Back in September, former East Texas Sheriff's Deputy Eddie Nichols was arrested and charged with two counts of indecency with a child. Authorities also arrested the deputy’s wife, Sharon Nichols, and charged her with 1 count of indecency with a child.

It appears that arrest has prompted another victim to come forward.

A woman tells investigators that back in 2002 when she was fifteen years old, Nichols let her swim at his house on several occasions. In the arrest warrant the woman states that after swimming, Nichols would bathe her while she was totally nude in the bath tub.

Investigators began questioning the woman after her former counselor came forward and told the authorities that she remembers a young girl under her care telling her that she spent a lot of time with Nichols and that the young girl felt uncomfortable. The counselor came forward after learning of Nichols initial arrest back in September.

The arrest warrant states that Nichols met the girl during her attempt to run away. Nichols was reportedly called to a vacant house where she was hiding. According to the warrant the two formed a relationship after the incident and Nichols wanted to be her role model.

Nichols was arrested and held on a $100,000.00 bond.

San Antonio Cop Victor Gonzalez ‘Cops a Plea Deal’ for Sexually-Based Offenses Involving Teenage Girl

Victor Gonzalez
San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio police officer Victor Gonzalez, obviously afflicted with serious sexual issues, has accepted a plea deal involving his sexually-related offenses. The 28-year-old police officer, Gonzalez, was originally accused of accosting an 18-year-old woman for sex after she was targeted for a drug arrest four years ago.

Gonzalez pleaded no contest Wednesday to one count of official oppression and will lose his Texas peace officer's license. In exchange, four counts of official oppression were dismissed. Gonzalez had been a police officer in San Antonio for six years.

His sentence includes one year of deferred adjudication probation, a $500 fine and 50 hours of community service.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Gonzalez stopped the woman as she was walking on the South Side and asked whether she was a prostitute and needed money. She said she wasn't a prostitute, could use money and didn't want to be arrested on a drug charge under a then-active warrant, the affidavit states.

Gonzalez then drove to a park near the Riverside Golf Course and called a friend to meet them there, while another SAPD officer, Michael Munoz, arrived shortly afterward and fondled the woman, according to the document. But Munoz had no money, so Gonzalez directed him to block the park entrance after the other friend arrived, who paid the woman for oral sex, the affidavit said.

Munoz, 36, a five-year SAPD veteran, is awaiting trial on five counts of official oppression.

“When you can see a dismissal in the near future, why risk being in front of a jury ... and put your family through what is said in court?” defense attorney Patrick Hancock said of his client's decision.

Gonzalez is married and has twins.

State District Judge Mary Roman told Gonzalez, “I do take it into account that you will never be a police officer again and that is important. People who are charged with the responsibility that you once had are held to a higher standard.”

Lamesa Cop Robert Gonzales Arrested For Tampering With and Fabricating Evidence

Lamesa Police Officer Robert Gonzales
Lamesa, Texas

Here’s one that really makes no sense at all. Our douche bag cop of the week award goes to Lamesa police officer Robert Gonzales, who was arrested and charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence.

Back in October, According to a Texas Ranger's affidavit, Gonzales told police that his motorcycle had been vandalized.

According to the statement the motorcycle had been dragged away, damaged with a sharp tool, and doused with lighter fluid in an attempt to set it on fire.

The affidavit states later that day, Gonzales gave a detective a threatening note written on a paper napkin which Gonzales claims he found in the bike's coolant reservoir.

Lamesa Police Chief Richard Garcia said other investigators soon got involved.

“As a result of the investigation and some things we were running across, we contacted the Texas rangers to assist us,” Gonzales said. “Basically what they did, when they arrive, they take over the investigation.”
During an interview with the Texas Rangers, Gonzales confessed that he made the note to either redirect the focus in the investigation or to solicit more attention to the case.

Garcia said Officer Gonzales has been with his department for 14 or 15 months.

He is currently on administrative leave, pending the outcome.
