Four Houston Police Officers Facing Termination for Ticket Writing Scheme

HPD Officer Matt Davis is one of the accused

Houston, Texas

Today was supposedly the big day for a group of Houston police officers caught up in an alleged ticket writing scheme. HPD confirmed the officers were meeting all day, from 1pm to 5pm, with Chief Charles McClelland. He is holding what you would call a loudermill hearing to determine if the officers will be terminated. They’re accused of running a ticket writing scheme back in 2011. Sources say the officers are accused of signing on to each other’s traffic citation so they all could reap the benefits of overtime.

The cops, who include a Sargent and Officer Matt Davis, are accused of an orchestrated ticket writing scheme.

Officer Davis is of particular note because he’s known as one of the biggest ticket writers at HPD.

Published reports show Davis has actually written thousands of tickets alone in a month’s time.

Ray Hunt with the Houston Police Officers Union said they could have the chief’s decision by late Wednesday. However, no official decision has been released to the public yet. A civilian committee recommended the termination of the officers two weeks ago. However, the final decision will be left up to Chief McClelland!

I got a ticket from Matt and wanted to contest it and submit video evidence. The judge declined to view the video.......
