A police officer from East Texas will be spending the next eight years behind bars for repeated sexual encounters with a 15-year-old girl in the back seat of a car.
Steven Wayne Morris, 28, was a police officer in Bullard when he began texting a student at Bullard High School. According to court documents, within a year, the two began having sex in the back of her car.
At the start of the investigation, Morris initially denied the charges but later confessed to Texas Ranger investigators. He entered a guilty plea as part of a plea bargain.
He had been suspended from the force once rumors began circulating about the relationship in 2009, and later was fired.
