6 Fort Worth Police Officers Fired for Altering Traffic Tickets to Fraudulently Get Overtime on Federal Grant Program

Fort Worth, Texas

Six Fort Worth police officers were fired Wednesday after an investigation into whether traffic tickets were altered so officers could claim overtime pay under a federal grant program.

The firings are a result of criminal and administrative investigations begun in March into suspicions that some traffic patrol officers wrote fraudulent tickets under the city's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.

The names of the fired officers and the number of years they were on the Fort Worth force are:

  • Robert Peoples, 22.

  • Patrick Aguilar, 18.

  • James Dunn, 11.

  • Maurice Middleton, 11.

  • Marcus Mosqueda, seven.

  • Ronald Wigginton, five.
Three other officers involved in the investigation resigned earlier. They were identified Wednesday night as Herman Young, 25 years on the force; Jonathan Johnson, eight years; and James McDade, five years.
