Seguin, Texas
A Seguin Police officer has struck a plea deal with Guadalupe County prosecutors and will plead guilty to evidence tampering.
41-year old Fidel Carlos Castillo IV had been charged with solicitation of a minor and evidence tampering after he allegedly sent a text message to an underage girl, soliciting a sex act this past June. He was also accused of deleting text messages from his phone, leading to the evidence tampering charge, for which he will now plead guilty. Castillo will have to surrender his peace officer’s license, after serving 15 years as a police officer in Texas, and he faces sentencing on the 3rd degree felony evidence tampering charge. Which means he could face anywhere from probation to 2 to 10 years in prison. That sentencing hearing will be held sometime early next year.
