South Texas Police Chief Accused of Sending Constable Transgender Porn

Primera, Texas

Primera Police Chief Joe Rodriguez is accused of sending porn to a constable. The porn allegedly consists of transgendered material.

The allegations came to light when Constable Robert Lopez filed a harassment report, after receiving a series of pornographic images of a transgendered woman through text message from Rodriguez on his government-issued phone. Rodriguez says he meant to send the images to a cousin and inadvertently sent them to Lopez instead.

The two men will be running against each other for the constable position in 2012. Each claim the other is attempting to discredit their reputation for political reasons.

Lopez says Rodriguez has a history of inappropriate use of government technology. In 2007 Rodriguez was terminated from a local school district after allegedly searching for adult web content from the school’s computers. Lopez said he believes Rodriguez was attempting to make him look bad if his government phone records were ever opened through an open records request.
